Mercury fillings used by dentists are 40 – 50% mercury. Mercury is such a highly toxic substance that the EPA will not allow it to be buried in the ground or dumped into landfills. So why the heck do we have it in our mouths? The American Dental Association adamantly refuses to admit there might be a problem. They seem to want to fall back on the ...“There is no definitive proof the fillings cause problems” excuse - as to why it's allowed. It seems that they should have to show definitive proof that mercury amalgam fillings are safe.

At the following link the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Technology has posted a video. You can see the toxic vapors that are released from fillings in the following circumstances: - at the body's natural temperature of 98.6 degrees fahrenheit
- at 110 degrees fahrenheit - do you drink hot coffee or tea?
- when rubbed with a pencil eraser, to simulate having your teeth cleaned
- when scraped with a knife, to simulate having a filling drilled

Mercury Free Schools?
The other day I read about a school that closed down because of a small mercury spill. I did a search on the internet to find it and use as a reference here. There were pages and pages of them, so I gave up on finding that particular one.The point is that anytime mercury is spilled at a school it appears they shut it down because it's dangerous. The articles I read said the spills ranged in size from 1/2 a cup to less than what is found in a thermometer. So, are the schools overacting or are we too complacent about the mercury fillings in our teeth? You know what I think.
