Digestive Enzymes + Raw Food =
Good Health

What do digestive enzymes have to do with food and good health? I'm glad you asked. This can be a complex subject. I am going to break it down using simple concepts.

Enzymes are extremely important to the health of your body and everyone has a limited enzyme potential. View your bodies “enzyme account” in the same manner as you do your checking account.

Both can be overdrawn and the consequences are a loss of health and nsf fees. By the way, these fees are nasty, but miniscule compared to what the medical profession charges.

Raw Foods are Live Foods

If you eat “live foods”, you will receive a double benefit in that they provide their own enzymes for digestion and will also build up your “enzyme account” at the same time. Like making deposits in your checking account.

Live foods are raw. They not only contain enzymes, they also contain the vital co-enzymes (vitamins) that you need for good health. For a fast and easy way to get plenty of raw fruit and veggi’s see Digestive Enzymes.

If all you eat are nutritionally “dead” foods then your body must supply all the enzymes required for digestion. I like to explain to my coaching clients, they are making withdrawals without any deposits.

Dead foods are everywhere in our modern world. The methods we use to store, preserve and cook food kills the enzymes that are natural to the food. It’s estimated that at temperatures above 118 degrees all the enzymes in food are destroyed.

For a more comprehensive understanding of the role enzymes play in your health I recommend you read "Detox for Life" by Loree Taylor Jordan. Chapter 6, “All About Enzymes”, is only 7 pages long and covers the subject well.

Detox for Life

I highly recommend you read Loree's entire book. She explains how the body works and what it needs in order to stay healthy. She is also a character and has a fun writing style.
